Music Museum Alliance
We are an alliance of museums, organizations and individuals who are deeply involved
with music and the work of museums. Our organization started when a number of members found themselves at
AAM every year — wanting to focus in on music museums rather than all types of museums. So MMA
was founded. Our goal is to offer an opportunity for sharing information, for learning from those
who've come before, how not to make the same mistakes, for working cooperatively with other music
museums in developing exhibits, shows and programs that we might not be able to do
individually, and finally to have a united voice (with the power of numbers) to influence government
or business on issues of importance to our members.
Mission Statement:
The Music Museum Alliance exists to strengthen the pursuits of its members through the sharing of
knowledge, information, challenges and common goals.
